Your child's Tutor is your main point of contact
Communication with home is really important to us. If you have any worries about your child then please let us know. Our pastoral care starting with the Tutor is exceptional – ‘if we know, then we can act’. We want your child to be happy, confident and successful at WSE. Your child’s Form Tutor will be your primary point of contact for school and we welcome initial enquires which should be directed to them. They will help to resolve day-to-day issues such as worries, friendship groups and general academic progress. Your child’s tutor will ring you during the course of the year purely as a courtesy call to check all is well. Heads of Year and Deputy Heads of Year are also available for support.
Class Charts App for daily communications, announcements and letters home
At Wyvern St Edmund’s we use Class Charts as a convenient way to share information with you about your child’s school life. Class Charts allows you to access our student data system from a smart phone, tablet or PC – anytime, anywhere. It is easy to set up and convenient to use. We ask all parents to have an account to receive key messages sent out each week.
In Class Charts you will be able to:
- Access important information on your child, such as attendance, reward points, timetable, homework set, and behaviour
- Report student absence
- View notifications to remind you about important information such as key dates for your diary
- Receive letters that are sent out
- Please note: If you have more than one child at Wyvern St Edmund’s, you will have access to information for all your children from the same app.
- Shortly after joining the school, you will receive an activation email inviting you to join Class Charts in September. If you have any difficulties please email office@wyvernsteds.org.
TOP TIP: Please turn on notifications for ‘Announcements’ on your & your child’s phone permissions. That way, you will not miss any important information shared!
A Termly Family Bulletin
At the end of each long term we celebrate student success through our Family Bulletin. This is updated on the website at the end of term. Previous bulletins are found on the website.
Parental Communications with each other
We have an Active Facebook group for parents/carers that families find useful. Parents/carers share questions, and the purpose of the group is to bring the community together. We all have the same goal, for your child to be themselves, to grow personally and academically and to flourish at WSE. This is not a forum to raise concerns, these should always be done directly with the school to protect the anonymity of your child on social media.
In addition, we have a Friends of Wyvern St Edmund’s School Uniform Exchange Page. By joining the group you will receive notifications when parents/carers are selling clothing their child has outgrown.
