Acting Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Wyvern St Edmund’s Academy

Burley, BNaturally, the education of your child is extremely important to you — and it is to us as well. At Wyvern St Edmund’s, “being the best you can be” reflects our commitment to nurturing every young person academically, personally and spiritually, so that they can fulfil their potential, enjoy school life and be well prepared for life beyond the classroom. Inspired by Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light shine" — we encourage every student to grow in confidence, character and ambition.

Wyvern St Edmund’s is a popular co‑educational secondary school set within extensive and beautiful grounds on the eastern edge of Salisbury. Our campus overlooks Laverstock Downs, with views towards Salisbury Cathedral, creating a calm and inspiring environment in which young people can learn and thrive. We offer students a wide range of exciting opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom, supported by strong specialist facilities.

Our dedicated and highly skilled staff work together to inspire, challenge and nurture our students. We have high expectations for all and aim to deliver an education that enables young people to achieve academic excellence, develop their individual talents and grow into confident, compassionate individuals with the skills and attitudes needed to succeed.

As a Church of England Academy, our values shape everything we do. We work as a community to fulfil our shared vision — helping every student to work hard, aim high, be kind and serve others. Central to this is our belief in the importance of a strong partnership between school, students and parents. We know that when we work together, young people are best supported to flourish.

We hope our website provides the information you are looking for and gives you a sense of what makes Wyvern St Edmund’s special. Please do not hesitate to contact us via the main reception if you need any further assistance. We look forward to welcoming you to our academy in the near future.
